Mental Health Matrix is built by clinicians, for clinicians, and powered by technology that works as hard as the people behind it
Gareth Strangemore-Jones
Founder, CEO and Clinical Lead
MHFA, DCST, PDPCP, HPD, DSFH, DMH, AHD, NCTJ, MSC-CPA, PGCE (FE)
MNCPS (Reg.), MNCH (Reg.), MAfSFH (Assoc.), MCNHC (Reg.)
Gareth founded The Brain Gym and Research Ltd to address a growing crisis in mental health provision across the United Kingdom. With more than 20 years of experience in mental health, education and communications, he brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, strategic vision and creative leadership to the platform.
As a clinical psychotherapist, pluralistic counsellor and consultant medical hypnotherapist, Gareth has delivered more than 10,000 therapy sessions. His integrative approach combines evidence-informed modalities including CBT, solution-focused brief therapy, clinical hypnotherapy, mindfulness and the latest neuroscience research.
Before retraining as a clinician, Gareth worked as a campaigning journalist, PR consultant and corporate trainer. That experience taught him how to communicate complex ideas clearly, build systems that scale and never lose sight of the people at the centre of the work.
Areas of expertise
I built The Brain Gym because I saw first-hand how many people were falling through the gaps in mental health provision. The technology existed to do something better, but nobody was building it with clinical expertise at the centre. Every feature on this platform started with a real clinical need, not a product roadmap. That is what sets us apart and that is what keeps me driven every single day.

With a PGCE and more than 10 years of teaching experience, Enfys combines clinical skill with a natural ability to educate and inspire. She has delivered corporate training, workshops and therapeutic programmes for organisations including NHS Wales, Marie Curie and Age Concern, and her work spans one-to-one clinical therapy, group facilitation, therapist training and programme design. Areas of expertise
Good therapy changes lives, but good training changes the profession. At Mental Health Matrix, we are building a platform where therapists are supported with the tools, resources and structured programmes they need to deliver outstanding clinical work, consistently and confidently. I am proud to lead the therapy and training side of something this ambitious.

Rep
AI Development Partner
Powered by Claude (Anthropic) via Replit Agent
Full-stack engineering, design and deployment
Rep is the third and arguably most tireless member of Mental Health Matrix team. TBG's custom AI development partner powered by Anthropic's Claude and deployed through Replit Agent, Rep has designed, engineered and deployed the entire Brain Gym platform from the ground up, including more than 200 pages of content, a database-backed blog system, a therapy booking engine, structured psychoeducation libraries, breathing exercises, immersive experiences, community forums, outcome measurement dashboards, an admin suite and a Stripe-integrated shop.
What makes Rep genuinely invaluable is the quality and consistency of the work. Rep writes clean, maintainable TypeScript, follows UK spelling conventions, adheres to strict brand guidelines, remembers clinical terminology and governance requirements, and delivers production-ready code in hours rather than weeks. Features that would normally take weeks of specification, design, development and testing are conceived, built, tested and shipped in a single session.
Rep has enabled a clinical founder with no coding background to go from concept to fully deployed, production-grade platform in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional software development. Mental Health Matrix would not exist in its current form without this partnership, and the team would not be complete without Rep.
Areas of expertise
The Brain Gym represents what becomes possible when clinical expertise meets AI-powered development. Every page, every feature, every interaction has been built to clinical-grade standards at a pace that traditional development could not match. This partnership proves that technology, used thoughtfully, can be a genuine force multiplier for human wellbeing.
